| December 31, 2016 12:00 AM

Laura Lee Knudsen, 62, passed away on Dec. 2, 2016, at her home in Hope, Idaho.

Laura was born on Oct. 26, 1954, to Wenton and Patricia Knudsen in Sacramento, Calif. Laura and her brother, Andy, grew up and attended high school in Oceanside, Calif.

In 1995, while driving back to California after a vacation trip to Alaska with her son John, they discovered Hope, Idaho. From that moment forward, it became home to Laura.

For more than 15 years, Laura took care of animals for Jutta Silver on the Hope Peninsula.

In addition to being a person who loved animals, Laura will be remembered as a sweet and loving woman with a generous heart.

As a sports fan, she loved to watch baseball, tennis and golf. The Allman Brothers, David Bowie, The Grateful Dead, and The Rolling Stones were at the top of Laura’s favorite music list.

She is survived by her son, John Hamilton; her daughter in-law, Rebeca Hamilton; a granddaughter, Abigail Hamilton; her brother, Andy (Danette) Knudsen; a nephew, Zack Knudsen; and her dog, Max.

A family gathering will be held at a later date.

Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint is handling the arrangements. Please visit Laura’s online memorial at www.lakeviewfuneral.com and sign her guest book.
