| January 13, 2016 6:00 AM

CLARK FORK — Freshman Brooke Stevens continued her strong play of late, posting a double-double with 13 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and two steals, leading Clark Fork to a 43-37 win over North Idaho Christian in nonleague girls hoops on Tuesday night at Clark Fork High School.

The Wampus Cats (4-6) shot a season-best 15 of 19 from the line, and were able to keep a small lead for most of the game. Leslie Kiebert added 13 points and nine rebounds, and Tessa Sutton seven points and six boards, as Stevens was able to get the offense going early and often.

“She had an awesome game. She’s just getting more aggressive, and hit a couple of threes tonight,” said head coach Mark Stevens, who felt his team played well offensively after struggling in a loss to Kootenai. “We moved the ball offensively. They (NIC) had some great outside shooters, and the girls handled them really well.”

Sammy Hill led North Idaho Christian with 12 points in defeat.

Clark Fork is at Noxon on Saturday in another nonleague tune-up.

n Roper, Jeffres play strong in loss

CLARK FORK — Dylan Roper posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards, but the shorthanded Wampus Cats ran into foul trouble, resulting in a 66-47 loss to North Idaho Christian on Tuesday in nonleague boys basketball at Clark Fork High School.

Spencer Jeffres tallied 18 points and seven rebounds and Hunter Boudousquie 10 and seven to lead the Wampus Cats (0-8), who played even until the two bigs got in foul trouble, and had to sit much of the second half.

“All in all we played pretty solid. That’s the best loss we’ve had all year,” said Cats head coach George Thornton. “We were short a couple of guys and only had eight players, and two were freshman. Dylan played a hell of a game, and we were competitive until Hunter and Spencer got their fourth fouls in the third quarter.”
