Dedicated volunteers helping community's libraries

| June 3, 2016 1:00 AM

The East Bonner County Library District is so privileged to have two teams of dedicated volunteers — the Clark Fork and Sandpoint Friends of the Library. These men and women work hard in behalf of their respective libraries, organizing community interest programs, book sales and other events that support our local communities. Over the next few weeks, both organizations are hosting some very special events I wanted to make sure you heard about.

Tomorrow, the Sandpoint FOL is hosting their monthly used book sale inside the lobby of the Sandpoint Branch Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Highlighting cookbooks, westerns and coffeetable books, this promises to be a good sale. But there’s more! This month’s sale is expanding outside to the adjacent property on Cedar Street with a “Books by the Box” sale. FOL volunteers have meticulously organized books according to genre and are selling entire boxes of very nice books for as little as a dollar. Are you kidding me right now?

The Clark Fork Friends of the Library are busy organizing its annual Schol-astic Book Fair at the Clark Fork Branch Library. This is a buy one, get one free sale on brand new books for all ages. Scholastic books make excellent gifts and are perfect for summer reading. This is going to be a great event for everyone in the family.

Thank you to our Friends of the Library, who bring us so many wonderful programs!
