Local elementary students shine at LPOSD track meet

CLARK FORK — Once again, Clark Fork played host to the Lake Pend Oreille School District Elementary School Track Meet, with Washington ultimately winning the team title.
Meet organizer K.C. MacDonald wished to thank the Clark Fork Leadership Class, Lewis Speelmon, Frank Hammersley, Clark Fork Veterans, Clark Fork Volunteer Fire Dept., Todd Newhart, Rob Sherrill, Adam Hodges, Kathy Powell, CFHS Staff, and Clark Fork Ambulance for helping with the event.
“It takes about 75 people to pull this event off,” said MacDonald of the popular meet. “55 were students from Clark Fork High School.”
From sprints, to relays, to the long jump to the softball throw, kids from third through sixth grade competed and enjoyed a sunny afternoon out of the classroom.
