Boat Idaho course is set for Saturday

SANDPOINT — The Bonner County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting the first of two Boat Idaho courses this weekend.

The course, which will be held June 25 and again on July 23, gives the boating public a chance to learn basic boating laws and safety. The class will begin at 9 a.m. at the Marine Division boat house, 4001 N. Boyer Road. The class is expected to last about six hours. It is free to the public and is open to residents of any state.

This course will teach participants about boating safety and the legal requirements, including necessary equipment. Basic boating laws and the rules of the road with regard to navigation and boater courtesy also will be taught.
