New Wampus Park course needs you

| October 1, 2016 1:00 AM

CLARK FORK β€” Clark Fork is excited to offer something rare, a dual golf/disc golf course, which is nearing completion.

But before the discs and golf balls can fly at the Wampus Park Course, there is still some work to be done, and course organizers are hoping community members can donate their labor next Saturday, Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the course behind the football field in Clark Fork.

Volunteers are needed to help spread sand, soil and seed on the new greens before the snow flies. Teams of five will prep a green for seeding, so if 45 people show up it’s enough for all nine greens. The course will be mostly Par 3s, with two Par 4s, with the disc golf course slated to be ready for play this fall, and the golf course by late spring of 2017.

If you have a few hours to donate to the cause, please bring any shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows and buckets. Lunch will be provided, so please let Clark Fork teacher K.C. MacDonald know if you plan to attend.
