A pair of Bonner County organizations were among those recognized when the Idaho Nonprofit Center hosted the 2016 Idaho Nonprofit Excellence Awards Sept. 22 at Boise State University. The awards spotlight the thousands of nonprofit organizations across Idaho that make a difference every day.

The Panhandle Alliance for Education was named a finalist in the North Idaho large nonprofit category and Selkirk Outdoor Leadership & Education was named a finalist in the North Idaho small nonprofit category.

The event is sponsored by HD Insurance.

The INC represents the interests of Idaho’s over 5,500 registered charitable nonprofit organizations and serves as a broker of information and a bridge between the nonprofit, for-profit and government sectors. They are an association of nonprofit leaders who come together to share knowledge, solve problems, pursue common interests, and serve the public good.

Other programs of the INC include Idaho Gives, INC Statewide Conference, and Nonprofit Resources Thursdays.
