Bulldogs fall to Vikings

| October 5, 2016 1:00 AM

COEUR d’ALENE — Laney Search finished with seven kills, 17 assists, nine digs, two blocks and two aces, but it wasn’t enough against a strong 5A opponent, as the Bulldogs were swept 25-21, 25-18, 25-17 by the Vikings in nonleague volleyball on Tuesday at Elmer Jordan Court.

Kayla Neumann finished with nine kills and 10 digs, and Grace Kirscher six kills and two blocks, but the Bulldogs (15-9) struggled to find consistency in the attack after beating the Vikings in five sets earlier in the year.

“Coeur d’Alene was the better team tonight. We had 27 kills and 25 hitting errors. Can’t win a match with that percentage,” said Bulldogs head coach Erin Roos. “We will get back to the basics of ball control in practice. Still beneficial for us to play 5A schools in preparation for the caliber of teams we will face at state.”

The Bulldogs are at the Linda Sheridan Classic in Spokane, formerly the Crossover.
