Al Madsen Distributing Co. has recently begun operations from a new 6,000-square-feet warehouse located at 1110 Superior Street.

The firm services Lucky Lager and Budweiser beer accounts in Bonner and Boundary counties from the new building which was constructed by Howard Malone, a Sandpoint contractor.

Madsen says the new building is of wooden construction with laminated beams. It has enameled steel siding and roof and is fully insulated. He now has increased cooler space for storage. The building includes office space and four truck stalls. Automatically controlled flood lights illuminate the property from dusk to dawn.

SHERIFF REMER HAS LUCK FISHING

On Monday Jack Mullen’s houseboat and boathouse located near the City dock were raided by Sheriff Remer and his deputies, and a considerable quantity of liquor and beer found.

The door of the houseboat was locked when the sheriff knocked, and although there were several persons in the building, there were no signs of liquor. The real cache was found in the boathouse near by. Using hooks the sheriff drew up four sacks of bottled goods which had been submerged in 10 feet of water. The findings were considered sufficient evidence against Mullen and he was accordingly placed under arrest.

HIGH SCHOOL NOTES

Football seems to be the most popular of school sports, and each night the football squad and their fans are seen on the campus doing their best under the able coaching of Prof. Strong.

The total number of students in the high school is not as great this year as last there being only 151 enrolled at the beginning of the term.

Prof. Henderson has introduced the Normal course into high school and seven students are taking advantage of the class in pedagogy.
