Presidential debate is tonight

Washington University in St. Louis will host tonight the second of three debates between Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican nominee Donald Trump.

The town-hall style debate, which begins at 6 p.m. and is scheduled to last 90 minutes, will be moderated by ABC’s Martha Raddatz and CNN’s Anderson Cooper. CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, PBS, CNBC, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, and C-SPAN will televise the commercial-free event.

For those without television, multiple media outlets will be streaming the event online.

During the debate, candidates will be seated but with no lectern or table to hide behind. They’re given hand-held microphones and are free to roam the statge to answer questions or challenge each other.

According to the Commission on Presidential Debates, half of the questions will be posed directly by citizen participants. The other half will be “based on topics of broad public interest as refelcted in social media and other sources.”

Each candidate will have two minutes to respond to each question and the moderator will be able to facilitate further discussion for an additional minute.
