I’m troubled by comments from certain citizens and politicians disparaging Idaho legislators who adhere to the Idaho Constitution.

In Legislative District 1, we are fortunate to have two state representatives, Heather Scott and Sage Dixon, who believe in and demonstrably follow our constitution. Both are targets of not only Democrats but a number of Republicans in Boise whose voting records show them to be compromising the constitutional oath.

Sen. Shawn Keough falls into that category. For years, she has voted with liberals in both parties, disregarding the Constitution, giving lame excuses when confronted about it, but audaciously calling herself conservative.

Therefore, I will, for the first time, support the current Democratic candidate, Steve Tanner, for senator. Steve is a conservative who honors the Constitution and won’t take lobbyists’ funds. How refreshing.

Let’s send three conservatives to Boise by electing Steve Tanner and re-electing Heather Scott and Sage Dixon.
