Bulldogs sweep Trojans

SANDPOINT — The Bulldogs won most of the races, as the girls won 88-60 and the boys won 89-48 in a swimming dual on Wednesday night at the Sandpoint West Athletic Club.

It was the final tuneup before the district meet, and many of the Bulldogs competed in different events. Bulldog head coach Mike Brosnahan call it a fun meet.

“Pretty much dominated the meet from the start, winning most of the events and relays,” he said.

The following Bulldog boys earned top three finishes: Jacob Ballard (1st 50 free, 1st 100 breast); Garrett Bamer (1st 100 free, 2nd 100 back; Seth Bamer (1st 100 fly, 2nd 200 free); Miles Luce (1st 200 IM, 2nd 100 breast); Johnny Parkinson (1st 400 free, 2nd 50 free); Izaak Bartlett (2nd 400 free); Alex Johnson (2nd 200 IM, 3rd 100 back); Lukas Aanes (3rd 200 free).

The following Bulldog girls notched top three finishes: Emily Hieronymus (1st 100 back, 1st 200 free); Payton Bokowy (1st 100 fly, 1st 200 IM); Ellie McCray (2nd 100 free, 3rd 50 free); Catherine Brenner (2nd 400 free, 3rd 200 free); Briana Brosnahan (2nd 100 breast); Mikayla Schoening (2nd 50 free, 3rd 100 free); Allison Kinard (3rd 100 back); Emma Reed (3rd 200 IM); Logan Sanborn (3rd 400 free).

The Bulldogs will now intensify training leading up to the District championships on Oct. 29 at the University of Idaho, the final meet for the Bulldogs to hit a state-qualifying mark.
