n Nordic Club starts Dryland training

The Sandpoint Nordic Club Youth Ski League kicked off its 2016-17 ski season with some Dryland Training recently. Dryland ski training is something cross country skiers do to build their fitness stamina, strength and balance before they begin skiing on snow.

Volunteer coaches for the Youth Ski League lead these workouts on Wednesday afternoons from 2-3 p.m. at the University of Idaho Extension property on North Boyer road. All kids involved with the cross country ski program in the past as well as those new to the sport are welcome to join. Even adults can benefit from these workouts.

The sessions run through mid-November and are free. Youth Ski League sign up for this coming season starts next week, and details can be found at www.sandpointnordic.com.
