David L. Lusco, 69

David L. Lusco, 69, of Sandpoint, died Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

He was born on May 23, 1947, in Springfield, Vermont, the adopted child of Leon and Delia Lusco.

He graduated from Sweet Home Union High School, Vermont, in 1965, and received his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Lewis-Clark State College in 1978.

David served in the Army as a medic 1966-68 during the Vietnam War. When he returned from the war, he was a builder for Grand Coulee, Dworshak and Lower Granite dams 1968-’73. He then worked as a carpenter, owning his own business “Realwood Products,” and served as a bookkeeper, clerk and warehouseman to several North Idaho businesses.

He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. In his free time, he enjoyed working with wood, and playing guitar and banjo for his children.

Dave is survived by a brother, Michael Lusco of Lewiston; five children, Heather Lusco of Moscow, Jennifer Meyer of Uniontown, Joleen Larson of Potlatch, Andy Lusco of John Day, Ore., and Max Lusco of Potlatch. He had 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His parents, Leon and Delia Lusco, preceded him in death.

A family service is planned for a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation or to any veterans organization.
