| October 27, 2016 1:00 AM

Linda Key Rubin, 85, passed away in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on Tuesday, July 19, 2016.

Memorial prayers will be offered in this Sunday’s service, held at 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 30, 2016, at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Andy Kennaly officiating. A reception will follow.

Linda was laid to rest in a peaceful spot in her favorite place, London, England.

Linda was born on Feb. 24, 1931, in London, England, to Ross and Virginia Langton. She returned some years later to the U.S., growing up and attending schools in Altadena, Calif. She graduated from high school early and attended Wood-bury Business College.

Linda married Robert Rubin on Oct. 4, 1958, in Malibu, Calif. They lived in Los Angeles, where they had two children. They later moved to the Seattle area, where Linda was very involved as a volunteer in the schools her children attended.

Robert passed away in 1977. Linda then lived in Minneapolis, Cheney, London, Guadalajara and Tucson. She worked at a variety of jobs, from secretarial to publicity writing, her last job being a matron at a boarding school in England. Her great love was poetry, which she continued to write until unable to, due to worsening health this year.

Linda came to Sandpoint 13 years ago to be closer to her daughter and grandson.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and the Idaho Writers League. She enjoyed writing, poetry, theater, art, traveling, gardening, and attending church.

She is survived by her daughter April Libby and grandson Freddy Libby both of Sandpoint. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Robert Rubin.

Linda will be remembered for many things, from her style, flair and creativity, to her love for family and friends. Her family thanks the caring staff and physicians at Bonner General Health, Life Care Center of Sandpoint, and Hospice House of North Idaho for the compassionate care she received during her last months.

Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint is handling the arrangements. Please visit Linda’s online memorial at www.lakeviewfuneral.com and sign her guest book.
