Youth flag football teams forming

SANDPOINT — Any area youth interested in playing flag football this season should act quickly, as the deadline to register for the Sandpoint Parks and Recreation Youth Flag Football League is Friday, Sept. 9 at 5 p.m.

Youth Flag Football registration forms are now available at Sandpoint Parks and Recreation (1123 Lake St.) and online at www.teamsideline.com/sandpoint, by clicking on the “download forms” tab.

Now expanded, this fun league is open for boys and girls in grades 3rd-8th. Play will be spilt into 3rd/4th grade teams that will play with Nerf footballs, and 5th/6th grade and 7th/8th grade teams that will play with youth rubber footballs.

Practices will be held once a week with games played on Saturday mornings at Travers Park. Adults interested in coaching the philosophies of fun, fundamentals and sportsmanship are needed.

Games will begin on Saturday, Sept. 24 and run through Oct. 29. Fees for one player are $35 county/$30 city; two players $60 County/$50 City; three players $80 County/ $70 City. Jerseys are $14 and can be purchased at Parks and Rec. Scholarships are available on a need basis.

Register at City Hall by Sept. 9 to guarantee your spot on a team.
