Anti-pipeline rally set for Saturday

| September 16, 2016 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — In response to requests by indigenous and allied activists at the direct action camps challenging Dakota Access pipeline construction in North Dakota, #NoDAPL solidarity rallies are planned in Sandpoint and Moscow.

The events are co-hosted by Wild Idaho Rising Tide, Nimiipuu (Nez Perce) Protecting the Environment, and Palouse Environmental Sustainability Coalition. In Sandpoint, the rally will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17 at Jeff Jones Town Square, Third and Main.

Those interested in attended are invited to bring their signs and banners supporting this pipeline opposition, your reflections on water protection and fossil fuels resistance in the Great Plains and Inland Northwest, and their willingness to protest investors proliferating destructive fossil fuel transport.
