Sept. 22, 1966 — WIGTON RETURNS

Beginning Sunday, Nov. 6, Rev. Charles Wigton will again fill the pulpit as minister of the Sandpoint First Christian church. Rev. Wigton, a graduate of Puget Sound College of the Bible, served the local church from 1957 to 1961.

Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Ames and their family and grandchildren enjoyed a picnic at their home last Sunday. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Merle Ames and Carol, Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Ames and Richard, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ames and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Henry, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Karst and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Holt and Ray and Don Hill.

LOCKWOOD KILLED IN VIETNAM

Word has been received of the death of Sandpoint GI, Spec. 4 James A. Lockwood, 20, in the Vietnamese fighting.

Lockwood is survived by his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Cleo A. Lockwood, Selle; and his daughter Lynette, 3; four sisters, Wanda, Gloria, Darlene and Eddie; and his grandparents.

Services will be held after the military has returned the remains from Vietnam. An air force contingent from Fairchild AFB will take charge of the graveside services.

Sept. 22, 1916 — SCHOOL ANNEX ERECTED

As an abrupt end of the controversy over the redistricting of the city schools, the board of education Friday decided to erect a small frame building on the Central school grounds, capable of accommodating the third and fourth grades of that school. The contract was quickly made with the firm of Sheiler & Allen for a two-room building 30 by 54 with 10 foot ceiling, and one story high; since which time the structure has been erected and enclosed. The building cost $835.

ANNUAL STUDENT EXODUS

The past week saw a general departure of the young people of the city to pursue educational lines higher up than can be obtained at home. To the University of Idaho have gone Misses Lillian Olson, Gladys Kircheck, Evelyn Branson, Esther Pearson, Evaleen Kerr, Rachel Ramsey, and Messrs. Hollis McCrea and Irwin Slavins. Those who will attend the normal school at Lewiston are Misses Florence Joyce, June Hopkins, Blanche Senft and Clara Anderson. Miss Florence Mayne will leave the state in pursuit of her studies and attend the University of Montana at Missoula.

TO REOPEN CENTRAL DRUG

E.W. Sims on Monday bought the Central Drug store stock of W.W. Jickett, trustee in bankruptcy, and will open the store for business just as quick as he can get the stock arranged.
