SANDPOINT — A benefit concert, dinner and auction is being held today to help a local resident injured in a March 2016 car accident.

Starting at 5 p.m., the benefit includes buffet-style dinner, a silent and live auction, a 50/50 raffle, and a concert by Motion (The Linscott brothers and Dennis McIntire.) Events will take place at The Granary in Sandpoint.

The March 27, 2016, accident left Joe Sutliff paralyzed from the chest down with limited use of his arms and hands. According to the group’s Facebook page, because of Sutliff’s “amazingly positive attitude and motivation, he has made great improvements. However, he still has a long way to go and will be affected by this horrific accident for the rest of his life.

Due to the severity of his injuries, the group said it is unknown if or when he will be able to work again. A single dad with three songs, Sutliff currently does not have income and his insurance will end in October.

Tickets will be available to purchase at the door or in advance. Tickets are $10 per person or $25 per family. To purchase tickets in advance, call Anna Blackford 208-290-1079, Amy Sutliff 208-610-8023, or LaCheale Linscott 208-946-8147.
