CLARK FORK — Brooke Stevens opened the first set on a whopping 15 point service run, propelling Clark Fork to a convincing 25-3, 25-14, 25-12 win over Genesis Prep in North Star League volleyball Thursday night at Clark Fork High School.

The Wampus Cats (7-4, 6-1 NSL) had another big run in the second set, breaking open an 11-11 tie by winning 14 of the next 17 points in another strong stretch.

Stevens finished with 19 assists, five digs and two aces, Allison Warner and Hailey Bristol five kills each and Emily Garman 10 digs as everyone got to play.

“The girls were having a great time playing tonight. It was nice to see us step up to take care of business,” said Cats head coach Cindy Derr, whose team is going to watch LCSC and Great Falls play tomorrow on the way to the Genessee Tournament. “The girls are excited to see a college match, which for most of them will be a first.”

The Wampus Cats will face Pomeroy, Deary and Grangeville in pool play on Saturday night.
