The Idaho Department of Fish and Game would like to thank the Bonner County Sportsmen’s Association for their generous donation to the Idaho Fish and Game K-9 program. The BCSA provided funding for the purchase of a GPS tracking collar for Hudson, a yellow lab trained in human tracking and wildlife detection. Hudson’s handler, Senior Conservation Officer Matt Hagg, uses the collar to track Hudson’s location and to track his location in the event they are seperated.

In the last 6 years, Idaho Fish and Game has deployed three K-9 units that are active throughout Idaho in conservation law enforcement, search and rescue operations, and are available to local law enforcment as requested. The program has been widely accepted and has participated in multiple unlawful wildlife cases, searches for lost children, and even a murder investigation.

Thanks to the hard work of Idaho Conservation Officers and man’s best friend, the citizens of Idaho have a more professional and capable conservation enforcment program that will better serve citizens and the natural resources of our great state.

Thank you again to the Bonner County Sportsmen’s Association. You are a valuable partner to the Idaho Fish and Game and sportsmen in Bonner County!
