Lily Marie Swenson Marley, 96

Lily Marie Swenson Marley, 96, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Lily was born on Jan. 9, 1921, in Sandpoint, to Carl Swenson and Rhoda Swenson.

Before entering elementary school, she lived on Grouse Creek. Lily attended schools in Sandpoint and graduated from Sandpoint High School.

On Jan. 17, 1941, Lily married the love of her life, Harold Marley in Sandpoint. She dedicated her life to Harold, her children and grandchildren. She worked with Harold in the IGA, wrapping meat, stocking freight, bookkeeping, payroll and anything else that needed to be done.

Lily’s hobbies included cooking, gardening, quilting and crocheting.

Lily is fondly remembered for her sweet little giggle, her kind heart, her wonderful cooking and lovely home. She loved the Lord with all of her heart, mind and strength and her neighbor as herself. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy (Dave) Saasen of Tacoma, Wash.; Janet (Bud) Heth of Spokane, Wash.; her grandchildren, Coulette (Dennis) Kuespert of Spokane, Mollie Bloom of Sandpoint, Janell (Rod) Chinery of Woodinville, Wash., Monty Saasen of Renton, Wash., Ryan Heth of Spokane, and Rachel (James) Shipley of Monroe, Wash.; her great-grandchildren, Denny (Melody) Kuespert of Spokane, Andrew (Rebecca) Kuespert of Phoenix, Ariz., Nicholas (Megan) Kuespert of Spokane, and Jonathan Shipley, Noah Shipley and David Shipley, all of Monroe; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Lily is preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Dora Swenson; her husband, Harold Marley; her daughter, Carol Bloom; and her son-in-law, Ralph Bloom.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at Coffelt’s Moon Chapel, Pine and Division, in Sandpoint.
