Churches offering contemplative prayer retreat

The First Presbyterian and Cedar Hills churches are pleased to offer a half-day retreat on Christian contemplative prayer on Saturday, Jan. 6.

The retreat will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church located at 417 N Fourth Ave.

Retreat team members presenting are Pastor Andy Kennaly and Sharon Anderson, from First Presbyterian Church and Pastor Colin Moody, Deborah Dickerson and Virginia Moody from Cedar Hills Church.

The “Us in God and God in Us Retreat” is for anyone, experienced or new to contemplative practices. It’s a chance to leave the post-holiday blahs, and come to a quiet, sacred space to explore Christian contemplation.

There are still several openings and pre-registration is required by Jan. 3.
