Feb. 2, 1967 — LEGISLATORS VISIT

Sen. Merle Parsley and Rep. Don Maynard listened to their constituents last Saturday.

Brian O’Meara, chairman of the local small contractors, spoke against proposed changes to the law. “The men who designed this bill were just trying to give us a bad time.” Parsley agreed there was little public benefit in the bill and that the sponsors were home owners and large contractors.

Clara Sabrowski, a Junior High teacher, told the legislators that after two years in Idaho she found Idaho teachers retirement “most abominable”. She said, “I left my retirement in Minnesota when I left there. It will feed me should I retire one fine day but I would like to see Idaho teacher retirement transferred to the public employees fund.” The transfer has been suggested by Gov. Don Samuelson.
