I apologize for our mistake

We should never have allowed the letter by Rick Miller to run in the pages of the Bonner County Daily Bee yesterday in the form that was submitted. We would normally take the high ground, recognizing that Rep. Heather Scott is an elected official. We need to hold ourselves to a higher standard with regards to elected officials, even if the words were actually said. A solution would have been to suggest paraphrasing the comment as we did in several of the stories that ran regarding the incident.

To Representative Scott and our readers, please accept our sincere apologies for allowing that comment to make it into print.
