I am writing in support of the replacement supplemental levy on the March 14 ballot.

I moved to Sandpoint during high school. I was privileged to be a part of, and eventually captain, of the dance team which became state champions. I also participated in Key Club, National Honors Society, and many other academic extracurricular activities. While I was on dance team, the coach allowed me to assist in the budget due to my interest in finance. This experience was crucial in my being elected to the Associated Students of Montana State University as a senator. My involvement in ASMSU led me to work with the university president and Montana governor on higher education policy. My career continued at the Nordstrom headquarters in Seattle after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business.

These opportunities would have been impossible without the foundation that I was able to build thanks to SHS. Its outstanding extracurricular activities and staff (shout out to Jeralyn Mire!) were instrumental in making my college and career goals tangible.

My husband and I love this community and the incredible support that it provides to everyone in it. I am excited to grow our family here and believe LPOSD will be a wonderful system within which my children can grow and gain a balanced education with an emphasis on becoming well-rounded citizens. Thank you to the community for your time and for your continued efforts toward making our school system and its success a priority.
