SANDPOINT — Softball head coach Elizabeth Hawkins-Williams and a host of varsity assistant coaches and players will lead the Sandpoint Bulldogs Presidents’ Day Softball Clinic on Monday, Feb. 20, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Sandpoint High School gym.

The one-day clinic is open to any and all area girls from the 2nd through 8th grade who want to learn or improve in the sport of softball.

The clinic will feature instruction on hitting, bunting, fielding, throwing, catching, pitching and base running, among other things, with local coaches on hand to share their knowledge.

The cost of the clinic is $20 if you pre-register, and $25 at the door. All proceeds benefit the Bulldog softball program, which continues to improve as the sport grows in Sandpoint.

Players should bring non-marking gym shoes, indoor practice attire, glove, water bottle and a light snack. Optional equipment: bat, batting gloves, etc. This clinic is geared toward teaching basic and enhanced fast pitch softball skills with an emphasis on fun. The participants will be grouped by age or skill level, so they will receive the most beneficial instruction.

Prizes and participation certificates will be awarded.
