Our beloved Richard left us on February 9, 2017 for a special place in heaven saved just for him. We will miss him and his kind and gentle ways. Richard was born July of 1947 in Sandpoint, Idaho, to Dan and Teresa Deshon. He is survived by his sister, Cheryl Paton; his niece, Polly (Shawn) Maxwell along with their children, Peyton and Madelyn; his niece, Emmy (Trent) Wise along with their children, Lillian and Whitley; his brother Dan III (Donna) Deshon along with their children, Michelle, Stacey and Edward; his nephew, Dan IV along with his children Samantha and Kyle; his nephew, John (Lynn) along with their children, Allysa and Kelsey.

He is also survived by his extended family, L’Arche Spokane. He was preceded in death by his parents. Richard’s passion in life was the Railroad. He enjoyed many travels by rail and watching the rail cars go by. He was employed by Shop Around The Corner through ARC for many years. They were so patient and kind.

He also met his amazing best friend and job coach Kristy there. Special thanks go to the following: Dr. Jeffery O’Connor and his staff who have always taken such wonderful care of him. The staff at Royal Park were amazing up until the very end. The L’Arche Community where he lived most of his adult life with his special friends. The Artisans and all their hard work to make sure individuals with special needs are given opportunities to succeed. A service for Richard will be held in Spokane, Wash., at St. Aloysius Church on the Gonzaga Campus, Monday Feb. 20, 2017 at 11am. Memorials will be gratefully accepted by The Artisans, 4019 E. Richard will be forever remembered for his unconditional love and for all the lives he touched. Good bye Richard you are the best!
