The 2015 census figures show 22.3 percent of Bonner County’s population is over 65. Also, according to the United Movers Study by United Van Lines (Daily Bee, Feb. 7, 2017), in 2016, 27 percent of people moving to Idaho are 65 or older and more than one third are between the ages of 55 and 64. The vitality of our community relies on young families also moving here and staying here.

In order to attract and keep bright, dedicated professionals and skilled workers, we must continue the financial support we have given the LPOSD through past supplemental levies.

LPOSD is a high-performing district that relies on a supplemental levy to provide excellent educational programs for all students. As Idaho continues to underfund our schools, it is even more important for us to support LPOSD. By voting yes, you help keep the quality of education high and you help ensure that we will continue to compete with other cities/states to draw caregivers, shop owners, tradespeople, professionals, etc. to our area.

It is up to us to provide this support. You can help make up the difference the district needs in providing a quality educational system, not just an average one.
