We are writing in response to Rick Cramer's letter to the editor on June 1.

First, let us define satire: "The use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues."

We have determined that Mr. Cramer's letter must be based on satire, so our response is the same. First, we have established a site to help send all conservatives who would like to leave Bonner County for parts "unknown." If you would like to donate to the cause, please drop your Sierra Club magazine or The New York Times you are currently reading and pick up the phone now. A telethon is planned in the near future as we want to encourage like-minded liberals to rally and move to Bonner County at once. We have excellent recreational activities, from skiing swimming, boating, hiking, and generally grumbling about "ultra conservatives," to huckleberry picking and free concerts during the summer.

Yep, we are a liberal bunch of yuppies, hippies, artists and the like who love our country and our state, and just want our kids and grandkids to have a chance at a happy life in Bonner County. We are quietly buying up property in Sagle in order to move more liberally-minded folks here.

Mr. Cramer, rest easy, we don't require any vetting of like-minded people either, so we have something in common with you.
