SANDPOINT — Whew! Did all the Independence Day events wear you out? Better get some beauty rest, because this week is rich in events. Friday offers an excellent documentary on the sport of blind sailing at the Panida and the community music festival, SummerFest, is going on all weekend at the Eureka Center, east of Sagle.

Saturday, it’s the Cowboy Junkies in concert on the Panida stage and — anybody up for a road trip? — Bridges Home has a concert Saturday night at the Dahmen Barn, near Pullman.

Jake Robin

‘Sense the Wind’

The Sandpoint Sailing Association presents this inspiring film about the sport of blind sailing, followed by a Q&A session with director Christine Knowlton.

Fred Armisen with Jacqueline Novak

Fred Armisen is an Emmy Award-nominated writer, musician, comedian and actor known for his roles on Saturday Night Live, Documentary Now and Portlandia. Jacqueline Novak is a New York-based stand-up comedian and writer, who has been featured on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Comedy Central, and at comedy festivals across the U.S.

Riff Hangers

This local band describes themselves as ‘an acoustic band, with traditional bluegrass/folk instruments. However, our style is an amalgam of many genres including country, blues, and swing.’ Break out the dancing shoes!

Flying Mammals

Flying Mammals, an all-sibling Inland Northwest alt rock band with high-energy performances and melodic songs reflecting funk, folk and symphonic rock influences.

Sandpoint’s own Bridges Home has been building a fan base on the Palouse over the past couple of years and their shows at the Dahmen Barn have been a key catalyst for that growing interest. The performance setting is relaxed and the acoustics are amazing.

‘The Conversation’ — Annual Artists’ Picnic

Venue: Dover City Beach, in Dover.

‘You are Fabulous’ with Anna Largen. Anna will bring essential oils for sharing aromas that create clarity and well being. Extra oils will also be on hand to keep those pesky mosquitoes at bay. ‘American Bandstand Revisited’

Venue: Circle Moon Theater, located on Highway 211, 3 1/2 miles north of Highway 2, near Newport, Wash.

What were you doing in the 1950s, ‘60s, ‘70s or even ‘80s? For more than thirty years, Dick Clark created a musical culture, which, to this day, is unmatched. Bandstand Revisited will honor this achievement, featuring Unleashed headliners doing solo and ensemble performances inspired by the original artists who appeared on this ground-breaking national television show. Audiences will enjoy toe-tapping, finger-snapping music that is sure to bring up more than a few personal memories.
