Sandpoint Leadership class graduating at chamber lunch

SANDPOINT — From Leadership Sandpoint’s graduation to a talk by the CEO of the Inland Northwest Community Foundation, it’s going to be a chamber luncheon not to be missed.

Sponsored by Lewis-Clark State College on Thursday, July 13, the luncheon meeting will be held from noon-1 p.m., with registration starting at 11:45 a.m. at the Community Room of the Columbia Bank Building,414 Church St., Sandpoint. Shelly O’Quinn, CEO of the Inland Northwest Community Foundation will speak on the topic of “Looking Beyond the Numbers: Vision and Impact.” A local leader in government and community development, O’Quinn joined Inland Northwest Community Foundation in 2017. As a former Spokane County Commissioner, O’Quinn earned a reputation as a team builder and agent of change, representing Spokane County interests on 20 regional and statewide boards and commissions.

The Inland Northwest Community Foundation manages almost 500 funds and assets totaling over $110 million. Striving to enrich communities by connecting people who care with causes that matter, they have awarded nearly $60 million in grants and scholarships in the region since 1974. As the foundation pursues an aggressive goal to reach $250 million within the next 10 years they are looking beyond the numbers to ensure they are increasing community engagement, leveraging strategic partnerships and impacting communities to create lasting change.

The chamber will also be celebrating the graduation of the 2015-2017 Sandpoint Leadership class. Leadership Sandpoint is a chamber program designed to facilitate the development and growth of the leaders of tomorrow and provides opportunity to interact with community members as the class explores community issues.

The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce would like to encourage everyone in the community to attend the luncheon. The cost of the luncheon is $15 for chamber members, $20 for non-chamber members and includes lunch catered by Tango Café.
