Myrvin Neal 'Bill' Anderson

Myrvin Neal “Bill” Anderson passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at his home in Kootenai, Idaho.

He was born January 5, 1924, to Emil Anderson and Louise Hanson Anderson. At the age of 3, his father took him fishing and hunting which instilled a lifelong love of the outdoors. He did not measure time by the calendar, it was gauged by hunting and fishing seasons. He spent every elk hunting season in camps at the Lochsa or the High Drive.

Bill also enjoyed skeet shooting and traveled to competitions winning many trophies.

During World War II, Bill served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

He married Kathryn Rutherford in 1948 and lived in their home with Kathryn’s two children, Harvey “Skip” and Marilyn on Lake Pend Oreille in Kootenai.

He was a hard worker and throughout his life was employed as a mechanic, carpenter, and mill-worker.

Bill also owned a fishing boat and was a fisherman on the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Washington.

Bill is survived by his stepchildren, Harvey (Betty) Rutherford and Marilyn Bruce; a sister, Virginia (Ronnie) Kohal; six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn; parents, two sisters, MaryAnn and Edna; a brother, Emil; three nephews, Randy and Billie Kohal, and Fred Gravelle.

At Bill’s request, there will be no service.
