Opal Gene Butts, 90

Opal Gene Butts, 90, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at the Lakeview Funeral Home followed by a potluck reception. Interment will take place at the Seneacquoteen Cemetery.

Gene was born on May 27, 1927, in Oliver, British Columbia, to Robert and Lillian Davis. She grew up and attended schools in Wenatchee, Wash., and Los Gatos, Calif. She married Floyd A. Butts on April 23, 1946. They lived in Oak Harbor, Wash., until 1973 when they moved to the Hoodoo Valley in North Idaho.

After Floyd’s passing in 2002, Gene moved to Kootenai, Idaho. She was active in her Christian faith, enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and reading.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Furlini of Kootenai; several nieces and nephews; and by her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Robert Butts, daughter-in-law Judy Norman, sister Mary Brady, and two brothers, Wayne and Richard Davis.
