'Movies in the Park' series wins raves

So far, the Movies in the Park program is generating rave reviews.
Close to 600 people attended “Moana” on July 21. The 2017 Movies in the Park series is supported in part through two recent grants from The Equinox Foundation and US Bank, museum officials said.
Presented in partnership with Pine Street Dental, and the Sandpoint Department of Parks and Recreation, “Movies in the Park” will feature three more movies this summer: “The Sandlot” on Friday, July 28; “The Princess Bride” on August 18, and “Trolls” on August 25.
Movies in the Park is a free community event, and all are welcome. Concessions will be available for purchase during all movies. All movies will be shown at Lakeview Park, 901 Ontario St.
The park will be open to set up seating beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the movies will start shortly after sundown.
Museum officials encourage community members to enhance their experience by packing a picnic and arriving early to claim a spot.
Should inclement weather occur, movies dates may be rescheduled.
To help cover the cost of licensing films, the museum is seeking sponsors for this event. All sponsorships include recognition in all marketing and press for the series, as well as on the museum’s Facebook page and website, and in all internal marketing.
Sponsorships start as low as $100 and hold a minimum marketing value of $300. Check our website for more information, bonnercountyhistory.org/support.
Current sponsors include Kaniksu Health Services, Kaniksu Land Trust, The Co-Op Country Store, Percussionaire, Litehouse Foods, and Sandpoint Furniture.
Founded in 1972, the Bonner County History Museum has been collecting and preserving the Bonner County region’s significant stories for over 40 years.
A private, non-profit educational organization, the museum’s membership is open to all. Funding comes from community support, membership fees, gifts, retail sales and donations, and grants from private foundations
The museum is open Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; and on the first Saturday of the month, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. with free admission. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors, $1 for those 6-18 years old; and free for members and children under 6 years old.
