Cade Eugene Prophet, 25

| June 7, 2017 1:00 AM

Cade Eugene Prophet, 25, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017, at Palouse Falls State Park.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 12, 2017, at the Lakeview Funeral Home.

Cade was born on November 6, 1991, in Kirkland, Wash., to Michael and Dorothy Prophet. He moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, when he was 2 years old, and graduated from Sandpoint High School in 2010. He attended North Idaho Community College, worked in the oil fields, and spent time in Colorado and Arizona before settling in Spokane.

Spokane is where he met his girlfriend, Carson Harvey, in December 2015. He was working at Larry H. Miller Hyundai in their parts department. Cade also installed the dealership’s security system, and oversaw their website.

Cade believed that after God created man and woman, He next created brownies and found them to be the best work He’d done thus far.

Cade had the habit of saying the wrong thing, at the wrong time, and enjoyed breaking the ice on difficult subjects by making jokes and asking, “Too soon?”

Cade was an entrepreneur. One of the best examples of this was in the fourth grade when he set up a black-market candy business in the Farmin Stidwell lunchroom. When he was told he could not sell candy in the lunchroom, he moved his operation to the playground. After he was shut down there, he moved the operation to the sidewalk, outside the fences of the school, because he was told he couldn’t sell on school grounds. He figured he was OK as the sidewalks belonged to the city of Sandpoint. Again thwarted, he moved the candy shop to the school bus before being told he had to shut down for good.

His entrepreneurship carried into his adult life, he was always looking for the million-dollar idea. He could MacGyver a security system and make a cell phone charger out of an Altoids can. Cade was a special man with a creative mind and knack for inventing. He loved nature, cats, especially Kiki, and tinkering with electronics. He was your go-to guy to fix your cell phone or iPod.

He was not only too smart for his own good, but was a kind and generous person who not only had time, but affection for everybody he met.

Cade is survived by his parents, Dorothy Prophet of Sandpoint, and Michael (Jo) Prophet of Spokane Valley; brother Dane Prophet of Sagle; sister Brynn Prophet of Spokane; girlfriend Carson Harvey of Spokane; and grandparents Bob and Pam Jeffs, Peggy Prophet, Dorothy Barnes, and Rosemary Finigan.

In lieu flowers, the family asks that you make donations in Cade’s name to the Panhandle Animal Shelter.
