EAST HOPE — You’ll be singing the blues if you don’t make it to this year’s Bodacious Barbeue, the annual benefit for Memorial Community Center in Hope.

The event will be held at the Litehouse Beach House, 46242 Highway 200, East Hope on Saturday, July 15, starting at 4:30 p.m. and kick up your heels for a great cause. The barbecue will include complimentary appetizers, a no-host bar featuring beer, wine, mixed drink selections as well as non-alcoholic drinks, a catered dinner including tri-tip steak, baked beans, potato salad, green pasta, rolls, and chocolate or carrot cake for dessert, silent auction fun, a bucket raffle, and get ready to dance to the music of The Riff Hangers, a local Bluegrass Band.

Tickets to the Bodacious Barbecue are $60 each or purchase a table of eight for $560 which includes eight meals, two bottles of wine, and a floral arrangement. Tickets can be purchased securely through PayPal via the Memorial Community Center website (memorialcommunitycenter.com); in person at the center, located at the intersection of Highway 200 and Centennial Road; or by calling 208-264-5481 to charge by phone. Advance tickets are required. The office is open Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Bodacious Barbcue is the main fundraiser of the year for MCC and helps the center keep its doors open. Proceeds help fund preschool classes, preschool scholarships for families with need, college scholarships for selected high school seniors, an area wide Christmas Giving program, free Idaho Humanities Council events, and providing a meeting site for many local groups and clubs at an affordable rate.
