Virginia Faye Oliver, 79, passed away on June 5, 2017, in Mesquite, Nev.

Virginia was born on Jan. 2, 1938, in Priest River, Idaho, to Melvin Aaberg and Ellen Long. She married Glen William Oliver on Sept. 8, 1957, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Virginia loved to spend time with her family. She had a sharp mind, a quick wit, and a feisty spirit. She liked to grow flowers, go fishing, play bridge, and bake desserts. She enjoyed video poker, especially when she hit a royal flush. She loved animals and volunteered at the local shelters. She was an advocate for victims of domestic violence and volunteered at the women’s shelter. She was always very generous and giving to her friends, family, and those in need.

She is survived by her husband, Glen Oliver; her children, Kelly Oliver (Benigno Trigo), Moneca Jardey, Ruthelyn (Scott) McGillic, and Charles (Teri) Oliver; and her grandchildren, Tolor Jardey, Corey Derby, and Meriah Jardey.

A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date. Instead of flowers, the family asks that anyone so inclined send a donation in Virginia’s name to the Panhandle Animal Shelter at 870 Kootenai Cutoff Road, Ponderay, Idaho, 83852.
