Host of Sandpoint Sharks place high at Summer Solstice meet in Spokane

SPOKANE — Jack Grinzcic won the 50 free, was second in the 50 back and third in the 50 fly, and Caleb Norling won the 200 free and was second in the 100 free and 200 back to lead the Sandpoint Sharks last weekend at the Summer Solstice Swim Meet in Spokane.

Zack Grinzcic was second in the 200 fly and fourth int he 100 free and 50 fly, and Aidan Nielsen was second in the 50 fly and Hayden Leavitt second in the 800 free to round out the top placers for the boys team.

Autumn Morgan was third in both the 100 breast and 50 breast to lead the girls team.

Other Sharks to notch top 10 finishes include Garrett Bamer (5th in 50 back, 8th in 50 breast), Ryleigh Bamer (5th in 50 fly, 6th in 100 fly), Briana Brosnahan (5th in 50 breast, 8th in 800 free), Julia Cummings (5th in 50 free, 6th in 50 back), Ava Deleeuw (5th in 100 free, 7th in 100 back) and Hayden Norling (5th 800 free, 7th 400 free).

“High placing by Caleb and a lot of PRs from the whole team. Jack and Zack Grinzcic swam well too,” said coach Mike Brosnahan. “The boys 200 free relay won, beating some of the bigger team’s best.”
