SANDPOINT — The Bulldog girls swept the singles and doubles in a strong showing, dropping just seven games to lead Sandpoint to a 8-2 win over Lakeland in a nonleague match that was cut short by rain on Monday afternoon at Travers Park.

Laney Search and Khloe Kyllonen didn’t drop a game in a straight set romp in less than 30 minutes at No. 1 doubles, keeping their two year undefeated streak in Inland Empire League play alive. Allura Livingston, Alana Seifert and Jenny Slaveck each won decisively in singles action.

Amy and April Clark continue to emerge as a team that could get to state, winning in straight sets at No. 2 girls doubles.

“They just keep getting better every match they play together,” said Bulldog head coach Kent Anderson. “It’s fun to watch their ground strokes get so strong and consistent.”

Jacob Jackson and Patrick Rockwell won 6-1, 6-2 in No. 1 boys doubles in a match that was closer than the score.

Liz Parsley teamed with her new mixed doubles partner, Koen Conner, and rolled through their match without dropping a game. Qamron Leonard and Tessa Beeman made it a sweep in mixed as they continues to win matches.

“Combining Tessa’s strong ground strokes and serves with Qamron’s length and quickness at the net,” said Anderson. “I like the combination.”

The Bulldogs will host Coeur d’Alene today at 3 p.m., looking for the season sweep.

“The match against Coeur d’Alene will be a little tougher,” admitted Anderson. “I’m anxious to see how we’ve developed since our first match with them.”
