Michael Alan Nordland, 32

| May 3, 2017 1:00 AM

Michael Alan Nordland, 32, left us all too soon on April 26, 2017.

He was born May 11 1984, in Sandpoint, Idaho. He spent his childhood and young adult life in Tacoma, WA. He was a career sous chef, currently working at 41 South. He was so talented and truly enjoyed “chef’n” in the kitchen that one could taste the love he put into everything he prepared. He had so many amazing specialties it was near impossible to choose a favorite.

He always had a passion for music that was seen in what he wrote and the many instruments he taught himself to play over the years. Jamming with friends or sharing his love of music with his nephews and nieces brought him great joy. A dear friend, Crystal Wakeman, shared that; “He wasn’t like everyone, ‘ya know’.... He really cared about people no matter how much of an a** he was sometimes.” His sister Cass Nordland expressed that Mike was her favorite person in the world, he was always there for her and the kids, Ray, Imani, and Cameron Michael.

He is survived by his mother, Lisa Humphries; his siblings, including Cassandra and Tiffany Nordland; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his grandparents, Gilbert and Donna Boles. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Nordland

His celebration of life will be held at Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at 3 p.m. A potluck gathering will follow at the Long Bridge Bar and Grill. Any contributions to his end-of-life expenses would be gratefully appreciated. Please go to gf.me/u/BX9WA.

He will be forever loved, and missed by his family near and far. “Play with Passion.”

Family and friends are invited to sign Michael’s online guestbook at www.coffeltfuneral.com.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Coffelt Funeral Service.
