The article in the Daily Bee (Tuesday, May 2) about the upcoming National Day of Prayer correctly mentions the need to honor and pray for law enforcement and others serving us. But why no mention of those oppressed and ill-served who also need our prayers? There are plenty of those who need it, including folks abused by religious, governmental, and corporate institutions. Yes, “Forgive” us. But I suggest something better than only prayer; get into the mess and start shoveling.
