POAC Gallery exhibit showcases found art

The old adage: “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure,” comes to life at the Pend Oreille Arts Council Gallery’s new exhibition opening Friday, 302 First Ave., with an artists’ reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Local artists have created collages, sculptures and paintings incorporating found objects for this show appropriately titled “Piecing it Together.” Some of the work, varied in sizes and techniques, is truly unique and must be seen to be appreciated.
“Words can’t describe the innovative and creative process involved in executing the pieces in this exhibit,” POAC President Carol Deaner said. “Just to give you an idea, the artists were warned that they would be responsible for any damage their installation might cause to the building.”
