Robert Stevo Carrier, 78, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017, in Sagle, Idaho.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at the Holy Myrrhbearer’s Orthodox Church in Bonners Ferry with Fr. Gregory Horton presiding. The memorial will be held Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the church.

Robert was born on March 8, 1939, in Chicago, Ill., and his parents are Russell and Eva Carrier. He graduated high school in Chicago before entering the United States Marine Corps. He served from 1957-1959. After the service he worked as a machinist.

Robert married Marlene Parday in 1967 in Chicago. He worked as an engineer for National Can Corp., and they made their home in Merrillville, Ind. He retired in 1994 and moved to Idaho in 2015 after Marlene died.

He is a member of the Holy Myrrhbearer’s Orthodox Church and the Fred E. Barber, Detachment 1110, Sandpoint Marine Corps League. He enjoyed history, fishing and golf.

Robert is survived by his two sons, Mark (Martha) Carrier of Chesapeake, Va., and Christopher (Trisha) Carrier of Noblesville, Ind.; daughter Melissa (Lee) Mandic of Chesapeake; two brothers, Richard (Carolyn) Carrier of Sandpoint and Russell (Claudia) Carrier of Sagle; sister Barbara Carrier of Tacoma, Wash.; 10 grandchildren, Nicholas, Riley, Joshua, Olivia, Frank, Lacey, Robert, Angela, Christian, and Chase; and seven great-grandchildren, Bradley, Gatlin, Sawyer, Raiden, Brieue, Caleb, and Shianne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marlene, and son Glen.
