May 16, 2017 marks another important date for education in our community. LPOSD is fortunate that three very qualified and passionate individuals are willing to continue the pursuit of excellence in our local school district; Cary Kelly, Lonnie Williams, and Gary Suppiger.

It’s been suggested there is a lack of transparency, poor communication, and questionable leadership in LPOSD to which I adamantly disagree. My experience with LPOSD teachers and administration has been first class, professional, and to a person a very committed team that is focused on educating tomorrow’s leaders. I have been fortunate to have my two children matriculate through LPOSD and I have witnessed first-hand a school district that is producing college ready and work-force ready students. My daughter will graduate (in 4 years) from college this month and has excelled academically. In addition, the fact she has an excellent job in hand from a top rated international company is proof that LPOSD students can and do compete in college and in our economy.

I live in a different zone and thus can’t vote for these three people, but I absolutely support them and I know they will continue to collaborate with students, teachers, administrators, and patrons to build on the fine work done by their predecessors. Our local school district is not flawed and we need school board members that will invest in our students and provide our teachers the necessary resources to successfully operate LPOSD.

Please vote May 16, 2017.
