Kick off your shoes and come get Lost in the '50S
SANDPOINT — Here it is, one of the best weekends of the year when it comes to Sandpoint being jam-packed with fun! Needless to say, the undisputed star of the show is Lost in the ‘50s, kicking off (no pun intended) with the Rock n’ Roll Heaven concert tonight at the fairgrounds and picking up steam through the weekend with the vintage car parade Friday through town, the street dance right after that and two amazing shows on Friday and Saturday nights at the fairgrounds.
But wait, there’s more — the Lost in the ‘50s Car Show takes over downtown all day Saturday and the event closes with a fun run and car rally on Sunday.
While you’re out and about, be sure to take in the good vibes at the Sandpoint Farmers Market on Saturday with live music and the early fruits of local farms and gardens. On top of it all, live music seems to be everywhere this weekend. Big fun!

Lost in the ‘50s ‘Rock n’ Roll Heaven’ concert
Venue: Bonner County Fairgrounds, 4203 N. Boyer, in Sandpoint.
This popular show sells out almost every year and is the opening event for the 32nd annual Lost in the ‘50s celebration. This year’s performers are Ryan Pelton as Elvis, Sting Ray Anthony as Richie Valens, and Lance Lipinsky as Jerry Lee Lewis. Plus a young new crazy-talented band called The Lovers will be rockin’ the house over the top. What a way to start the weekend!

DJ Josh Adams and Tap Takeover

In celebration of craft beer Ballast Point Tap Takeover will feature four premium beers with help from Two Towns Cider, which will be bringing in two of their ciders.

REI presents ‘Expedition Alaska’ film at The Bing Theater
Venue: The Bing Crosby Theater, 909 W. First Ave., in Spokane.
Time: 7 p.m.
The 74-minute film tells the story of a 7-day, non-stop endurance event that took place through the Alaskan wilderness in the summer of 2015.

Lost in the ‘50s Vintage Car Parade
Venue: Downtown Sandpoint
Time: Parade starts at 6 p.m.
Come see the cars in action, as they parade through downtown Sandpoint, looping first east down Church Street then north up First Avenue and back west up Cedar Street. Pick a spot anywhere along the parade route.
Lost in the ‘50s Street Dance
Venue: Second & Main in Downtown Sandpoint.
Time: Starts immediately after the car parade
It’s boogie time for the young and young-at-heart, DJ’d by perennial favorite Bashful Dan.

The queen of the girl groups, Shirley Alston Reeves, original lead singer of The Shirelles, along with her girls are going to make you ‘Love Them ‘Til Tomorrow’ and then some! Paired with the smooth voices of Tommy Mara and the Crests, who’ll take you back to the corner of doo-wop and dreaminess. And don’t forget the best band in the nation, Rocky and the Rollers, for a great night!

This is a chance to hear and see some of the best instrumental, vocal and dance performances from Musicfest Northwest’s weeklong festival. Adjudicators from nine Musicfest divisions choose their favorite performers to be highlighted in this special concert.
