Kootenai School hosting Fall Fest

| October 4, 2017 1:00 AM

KOOTENAI — The playground at Kootenai Elementary will transform into a festive carnival with fun for children of all ages on Friday, Oct. 6.

Fall Fest, as the event is known, centers on a number of themed booths offering prizes, as well as several bounce houses and also offers delicious food donated by Sweet Lou’s in Ponderay. Also present will be staff from Home Depot, Northside Fire, and Bonner County EMS will have their new "off-road" ambulance for the kids to admire.

There will be fun games and activities, such as a cake walk and face-painting, and the event features several raffle prizes donated by local businesses.

The fundraiser, run by the Kootenai Parent-Teacher Association, has become a family-friendly tradition for the entire community and beyond.

"This event really celebrates families," said Kootenai Principal Kelli Knowles. "The kids look forward to it every year – and it provides a great opportunity to fundraise to support field trips throughout the year."

Fall Fest is open to all families and tickets are available at the gate before and during the event, which is from 3-7 p.m. Oct. 6. Tickets for games and activities start at 25 cents each, and wrist bands for endless bouncing are $10 each at the door. And this year, thanks to Potlatch Credit Union, credit cards will be accepted, as well as cash and checks.
