Farmin-Stidwell Elementary first-grader Maggie Zimmerman holds her new reading puppy tight after Sparkle the Bulldog and a couple of Sandpoint High School cheerleaders helped hand out the pups. The reading puppies were made possible through a Panhandle Alliance for Education grant, and the more the students read, the more rewards they get to outfit their puppies, such as collars, tags and puppy checkups.
