Verizon seeks to honor vets

| October 25, 2017 1:00 AM

PONDERAY — Round Room LLC, the nation’s largest Verizon authorized wireless retailer, is accepting nominations to recognize veterans at more than 500 of its TCC stores across the U.S. for the company’s first-ever Veterans Rock campaign until Friday.

Local residents are invited to visit select TCC locations to nominate veterans to receive care packages — valued at $40 each — filled with books, puzzles, hygiene items and more. Veterans who are chosen will be notified by Nov. 3, and can pick up their care packages between Nov. 6-10.

The participating TCC store in Ponderay is located at 477100 N. Highway 95 and the participating store in Sandpoint is located at 201 Superior St. Each participating TCC store is donating five care packages to veterans. Overall, 2,500 veterans will receive care packages in honor of Veterans Day on Nov. 11.

“We’re excited to launch Veterans Rock to recognize and give back to our veterans who are so deserving of these care packages,” said Scott Moorehead, CEO of Round Room, parent company of TCC. “This new initiative is just a small token of our appreciation and gratitude for those who have served, and we look forward to putting a smile on their faces.”

TCC makes ongoing investments in the local communities where it operates through its Culture of Good movement. Earlier this year, TCC donated 172,000 backpacks with supplies to children, 3,000 care kits to senior living communities, and supply packs to more than 5,610 teachers across the U.S.
