EAA chapter helps women, pilots soar

| September 17, 2017 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — The Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 1441 is hosting a special event for anyone interested in aviation, especially women.

"Why Women Excel in the Cockpit: Tips that Activate Performance, Confidence, and Joy," will be presented by Christina Tindle, a practicing licensed counselor, aviator, host and sponsor of Women Wise Awesome Adventures, bush pilot, adventurer, speaker and friend.

Tindle reframes personal challenges into positive opportunity and growth while identifying individual strengths and passion that build momentum, happiness, leadership, creativity, ultimate health, wealth, and peak performance within a balanced life, event organizers said in a statement. As a passionate bush pilot, she focuses on personal, athletic, and aviation performance that enhance learning styles and push beyond perceived limitations. From a positive belief about self and life, energy and personal power are activated, the statement says.

The meeting begins with dinner at 5:30 p.m., Sept. 20, at 3722 Flightline Way. Dinner cost is $7, or $5 with Chapter 1441 membership.

With road closures at the intersection of North Boyer Avenue and Schweitzer Cutoff, alternative routes to the EAA meeting on Wednesday include:

- From North Division at the Highway 2 traffic light, drive north on Division to Baldy Mountain Road. Turn left on Baldy for about a quarter mile to Great Northern Road. Take a right on Great Northern, then right on Woodland Drive.

There will be open fields on the right and logging. Look for the service entrance into Omni Airpark on the right.

- From Highway 95, drive approximately one and a half miles north to Bronx Road. Turn left on Bronx, then left on North Boyer, past fairgrounds, sheriff’s office, then right on Woodland.

Go west on Woodland about 300 feet and turn into the service entrance — solid white road edge paint will have a gap at the driveway.

Look for the EAA sign at the road. Come straight through the gate and follow the traffic cones to parking. Attendants will direct you to parking. Please RSVP for food order.
